Will you help us grow?

UPDATE: We’ve been working hard since our initial move into our new space and have made incredible changes. We have manifested so much of what we’ve been dreaming up in our heads and we were even able to preserve a precious piece of our personal history as makers in the process. After learning of the closure of our alma mater, The University of the Arts, and the auctioning off of its buildings, we were concerned what would happen to all the tools and equipment that had been collected and lovingly cared for by many over time. We needed to try our best to ensure the safety of these tools and ideally the preservation of their rich history. Many pieces continue their legacy of their service to students at Tyler School of Art and we plan to put them to work with students as well… We saw the opportunity to place a bid for remaining equipment, benches and many of the smaller items still left behind, the very items we needed to start our own small legacy of teaching. We couldn’t be more honored to be the new stewards of some of the beautiful tools from the place where we learned to be makers ourselves. Now we, along with some other extremely talented individuals, will get to share our knowledge of how to make something with your own two hands!!

And meanwhile… on the other side of the shop, we have largely paused on making jewelry while we committed to making a permanent retail store & gallery where we have poured ourselves into every detail. It has been an absolute blast and adventure bringing this joint vision for the gallery to life and we are so excited for everyone to see it!

We are incredibly excited for what’s ahead! We are still in the early stages of bringing our vision for Alloy Atelier to life and will be building out our space in phases. We've recently moved into our new location, where we’ve started setting up our personal workspaces along with a temporary retail area featuring our brands, Echo Metals and The Tiny Jeweler. Next, we plan to dedicate a third of our space to retail and exhibitions that expand visitors' understanding of what jewelry can be, while also fully developing our educational center. Our goal is to offer fun and memorable classes and workshops for all skill levels.

Realizing our dream of sharing metalworking with the public requires a wide range of tools, equipment and overhead. That’s why we’re turning to the community for fundraising support. Every donation will directly help us build out our space so we can begin offering classes and workshops as soon as possible!

Will you help us continue Philadelphia’s rich legacy of craft at Alloy Atelier? We are deeply grateful for your support in making our dream a reality.

XO, Kaitlin and Maricha
