Wax Carved Ring Workshop

We have previously only offered wax carving as an 8 week course so we are so excited about this one day 5 hour wax carved ring workshop hosted in the beautiful Social Beings space.  (1254 S 18th st., Philadelphia, PA 19146.)

Social Beings is , "not a gym or an art studio but a third space-something between home and work-where people of all ages and backgrounds can feel at ease, explore and belong. Our mission is to make wellness and creativity feel natural, joyful and accessible."

Maureen Duffy will lead students through the process of wax carving their very own unique ring. Will you make a signet style ring? A band? Or will you make something more sculptural? At the end of the workshop, you will learn how to estimate your casting metal cost in a variety of metals at current market prices. You will then decide how you'd like your ring to be finished. Do you envision a high polish or satin finish? After casting, your rings will be finished up by team Alloy and will be picked up from our shop at Bok. We can't wait to see what you'll create!

IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP:

• Where does this workshop take place? - Social Beings! (not Alloy Atelier)
  
• How many spots are available? - 24 seats! (much bigger than Alloy!) so there's plenty of space for your big group!
• What does the booking fee cover? - The $180 fee covers the 5 hour workshop with materials and the labor costs for Alloy Atelier to finish your rings after casting.
• What is not covered in the booking fee? - You will be responsible for the cost of the metal casting which will be estimated after your model is finished
• What metal can I get my ring cast in? - You will be able to choose between, brass, sterling silver, 10k, 14k, or 18k yellow or white gold!
• What kind of finish will my ring have after finishing? - You will choose between a high polish or satin finish
• How to we pay for the casting? - Alloy Atelier will invoice you for your finished ring and after payment is received, we will begin work on your piece and you will pick up your beautiful finished ring from our shop!
